Scope and responsibilities
Based in Stamford, Connecticut, the Oaktree Emerging Markets Debt team is seeking a Vice President to work within the Emerging Markets Opportunities and Emerging Market Debt funds (“EMD Funds”). The EMD Funds specialize in opportunistic, value-based investing but have a broad mandate and can invest across the capital structure and in various asset classes and industries in emerging market geographies. The VP will participate in all investment functions and portfolio management activities, including:
- Preparing detailed financial modeling;
- Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis;
- Developing and enhancing business and industry due diligence;
- Participating in deal structuring, legal documentation and negotiations;
- Recommending investment ideas; and,
Monitoring the performance of existing portfolio investments.
Experience Required
- A minimum of 5 years of investment experience with a top-tier investment firm, investment bank or credit-oriented hedge fund.
- Exceptional skills in analyzing and presenting investment opportunities, including: business and industry analysis, company valuation, credit analysis, negotiations and structuring.
- Demonstrated competency in financial statement analysis, business valuation, accounting and finance.
- Experience working with or analyzing companies in emerging markets is preferred, but not required. Restructuring experience is also preferred, but not required.

- Team-oriented with strong integrity and professionalism.
Education
- Degree from a top tier undergraduate university or college.
The base salary for this role will be $225,000-250,000 plus a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package
