Specialty Finance Product Specialist – Vice President

Within this business, is NB Specialty Finance (“NBSF”), a leading strategy that lends within the asset-based finance markets. Both NBSF and the overall business it sits within are experiencing rapid growth and expected to be a key growth focus of NB Private Markets.
The team is seeking a Vice President team member dedicated to NBSF to act as a fund specialist, managing and coordinating all prospect / client-related matters and other non-investment needs. A successful candidate will need to have an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to think creatively. This role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle a high volume of ad hoc requests. Flexibility and quick response times are essential to meet the dynamic needs of the organization. The individual will be a member of the fundraising / marketing team within NB Private Markets and have a wide scope of responsibilities as outlined below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop deep understanding of specialty finance and asset-based lending
- Serve as a resource for broader sales teams and provide them with tools, content, customized materials, and education
- Oversee and implement fundraising efforts with investment and sales teams including capital formation activities such as launching data rooms and creating marketing materials
- Assist with project management during fundraises, including due diligence questionnaires and data room monitoring
- Provide frequent fundraising, portfolio, and pipeline updates to the global sales team
- Create, update, and maintain all marketing materials, including presentations and informational documents
- Respond to RFPs, manage prospect follow-ups, and answer client/prospect inquiries
- Spearhead the creation of publications including white papers, blog posts, and podcasts
- Liaise with investment, sales, legal, finance, operations, and compliance teams globally
- Coordinate and sync marketing collateral, strategies, and fundraising activities across offices
- Ability to be independent and resourceful to answers to questions
This position is for an immediate start, in the Redwood City, California office in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience within an asset management firm, investment bank, private equity firm, placement agent, and/or consulting firm
- Familiarity with various alternative strategies (e.g. Private Equity, Private Credit, Venture Capital, Distressed Debt)
- Superior Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills and experience
- Resourcefulness and proactiveness, ability to multi-task, team-player attitude and a desire to work on a wide range of projects and manage them effectively
- Initiative and creativity in approach to problem solving and to be resourceful
- Ability to move quickly up the learning curve
- Remarkable attention to detail and strong organizational skills
