Description
Verus is in search of a full-time RFP Manager to lead the process and content creation of the firm’s new-business proposals to join our office in Seattle, WA, San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA or Pittsburgh, PA. As an institutional investment consulting firm, Verus stewards the success of client portfolios, such as pension funds, foundations, endowments, and more. Our business proposals describe complex financial services and concepts. An understanding of the investment industry and investment consulting principles is preferred; a willingness and ability to learn quantitative complexities is required.
The RFP Manager’s primary responsibilities include:
- Business writing: Responding to a high volume of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from prospective clients. Customizing content based on unique prospect requirements in a compelling voice.
- Project management: Managing the RFP process from start to end through its various stages.
- Content management: Ensuring updates to content database are timely and accurate.
- Researching and qualifying prospective RFPs.
- Tracking the RFP pipeline and outcomes.
- Gathering and distilling data from a wide breadth of sources and team members.
- Staying apprised of the firm’s developments and initiatives. Proactively adjusting content based on firm changes.
- From time to time, assisting Marketing and other team members with copywriting and editing.
The RFP Manager collaborates with a wide range of subject matter experts across the firm and serves as the primary point of contact for the RFP team. Verus’ current RFP Manager is retiring in summer 2025 and will be available for an extensive learning and onboarding period.
Prerequisites:
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- An academic or professional background that demonstrates a strong aptitude for persuasive writing.
- An understanding of the investment industry and investment consulting principles, practices, process, and concepts is preferred. In lieu of pre-existing industry knowledge, a proven ability to learn a complex, quantitative industry is required.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in grant writing or request-for-proposal responses is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage competing obligations.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a plus.
- Proficiency utilizing AI tools for content creation and management.
Salary
$125,000 - $175,000
Salary offered to candidates is determined by factoring in market pay, internal peer equity, education, credentials, relevant skills and expertise, past employment experience, and geographic pay differentials.
