The Opportunity:

The Analyst will work in the alternative investment management industry at a high-quality, growing firm and will gain exposure to the private equity asset class. The Analyst will support the private equity team in the sourcing, evaluation, and monitoring of fund commitments and select co-investments. The Analyst will have the opportunity to interact with all levels of equity and credit investment professionals and members of Apogem Capital’s Senior Leadership Team. Key Areas of Responsibility

1. Sourcing and investment screening
   1. Review industry news daily and enter new funds into proprietary database
   2. Own database management, including generation of primary team’s pipeline and forward calendar
   3. Perform industry and strategy market mapping
   4. Attend prospective manager and co-investment meetings and calls and generate meeting notes and quick screen evaluations
   5. Present quick screen evaluation findings in weekly team meetings
2. Diligence support
   1. Support deal team in initial assessment of investment opportunities
   2. Support senior investment professionals in diligence documentation
   3. Attend investment committee meetings and own documentation of commitments and approvals
3. Performance reporting and portfolio monitoring
   1. Complete post-closing documentation for new investments
   2. Review underlying fund managers’ portfolio companies on a quarterly basis, capturing relevant portfolio data
   3. Track capital call and distribution activity at the underlying manager on a weekly basis
   4. Monitor investment performance and track AGM and LPAC participation
4. Marketing and client service support
   1. Support marketing and other various requests from existing and prospective investors
   2. Support client service in development of existing and prospective investor communications
5. Organization
   1. Support special project work as needed

Candidate Profile

1. Four-year college degree; preference for majors in finance, economics, or accounting
2. Demonstrated interest in and intellectual curiosity about the investment management industry
3. Strong work ethic
4. Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
5. Ability to gather, organize, and analyze data effectively
6. Attention to detail
7. Strong written and oral communication skills
8. Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to take initiative
9. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills; must be able to prioritize, but also multi-task
10. Ability to work in a team-oriented culture and maintain open communication with team members
11. Experience with computer science and data analytics is a plus
