The Role

Stardust Equity is seeking an investment professional to lead transactions as we continue to build a best-inclass portfolio of direct investments and LP allocations across asset classes in private markets. Reporting to the Managing Director of the strategy, you will own the full investment lifecycle — sourcing, due diligence, financial analysis, execution, and portfolio support.

This is a small team, and everyone participates in every part of the work. It is an excellent opportunity for an investor with a decade of deal experience and a true commitment to utilizing capital to promote equity, care, sustainability and systems change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategy & Execution: Execute the Stardust Equity investment strategy, which maximizes positive outcomes alongside financial returns, and adapt it to changing market conditions and regulatory contexts. Lead research and house view development (memo writing), market mapping, and pipeline management.
• Investment Analysis & Due Diligence: Lead multiple transactions at once across the full investment cycle, managing investee engagements, prioritization, and due diligence, including market analysis, competitive positioning, impact, and risk assessment. This requires advanced proficiency in company/fund investment analysis and financial modeling.
• Instruments may include public and private equity, debt as well as blended finance, and direct company financing.
• Portfolio Management & Impact Measurement Rigor: Monitor the portfolio and prepare quarterly performance review and analysis. Bring rigor to learning and feedback, including impact measurement at both the strategy and portfolio levels, leading data collection processes, ensuring data integrity, and improving reporting templates for investment forecasting and deployment that prioritizes positive outcomes.
• Team Collaboration & Development: Mentor and collaborate with colleagues across the team, fostering high performance, mission-aligned culture. Engage with empathy, ensitivity, and discretion with colleagues, investees, and external stakeholders.
• External Representation: Develop and leverage a professional network to drive improved outcomes for the team and contribute to broader market action in the impact investment community. Represent Stardust Equity with other industry groups and at conferences.
• Other related duties and responsibilities as necessary and assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in asset owner/allocator, private equity, venture capital/growth investing, investment banking, or consulting roles.
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead the entire investment process, including evaluating legal documentation for fund and direct investments, analyzing capitalization tables, evaluating and producing term sheets, and creating waterfall analyses.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and technical skills, including advanced aptitude with Microsoft Excel, and the habit of leveraging data to support arguments.
• High attention to detail; always looking for points to probe further when conducting due diligence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including investment memo writing.
• Self-manager who thrives juggling multiple responsibilities at once and can drive projects from conception to execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or equivalent/relevant experience.
• Well versed in multiple arenas of investing for impact, with the understanding that it takes a spectrum of capital tools to create change.
• Experience with blended finance structures.
