Responsibilities
Oaktree’s Power Opportunities Group is seeking an Associate for a private equity/middle market buyout investing role in Brentwood this year. This opportunity is career-track, and compensation is highly competitive. Founded in 1995, they have originated and financed over one hundred transactions to date, deploying $7 billion in equity capital. Target check size is in the $150-$350 million range, though they can pursue significantly larger transactions given access to coinvest capital from sister Oaktree funds and highly supportive LPs. The group is deploying its $3 billion seventh fund, raised in May 2025, on the heels of the successful deployment of its $2 billion sixth fund in 36 months as well as continued success with realizations.
The Associate will participate in all transaction functions and portfolio management activities including:
- Preparing detailed financial modeling;
- Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis;
- Developing and maintaining business and industry due diligence;
- Participating in deal structuring, legal documentation and negotiations; and
- Monitoring the performance of existing portfolio investments.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience as an analyst with a top investment bank within restructuring, M&A, financial sponsors, leveraged finance, or other related industry coverage groups.
- Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated competency in financial statement analysis, business valuation, accounting and finance.
- Experience analyzing fixed income a plus, but not required

Education
A Bachelor’s degree with honors from a top university or college is required.
