About the Department

Putnam Investments, a Specialist Investment Manager (SIM) of Franklin Templeton, is a diversified, equity asset manager with roots dating back to 1937. We manage a range of active equity portfolios with a focus on stock-specific opportunities. Our approach — stock-driven rather than style-driven — is designed to produce consistent outperformance, regardless of the market environment.  As of December 31st, 2025, the firm managed over $162 billion in assets under management in strategies covering the style, geography, and capitalization spectrum, as well as sustainable solutions.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated professional with a foundation in fundamental equity investing and a deep interest and hands-on experience in AI and advanced analytics.

The Associate, AI Enablement will support the equity investment analyst and portfolio management teams to help integrate AI-enabled tools, techniques, and workflows into the fundamental research and investment process.

The ideal candidate understands how fundamental investors think, ask questions, and make decisions—and can translate those needs into practical, value-adding AI use cases. A successful Associate will help inform and teach analysts and portfolio managers where the use of AI can add value to the investment process, save time, and improve overall workflow.

How You Will Add Value

  • Partner with equity analysts and portfolio managers to help embed AI into fundamental research workflows
  • Help investment teams frame research questions and hypotheses using AI-assisted tools
  • Identify, design, and implement AI-driven solutions that enhance research efficiency and insight generation
  • Build and refine prompts, workflows, agents, and reusable research templates
  • Evaluate new AI tools, vendors, and technologies relevant to equity research and fundamental decision making
  • Act as an internal advisor and educator on AI capabilities and limitations
  • Train and support analysts and PMs in adopting AI tools effectively
  • Share best practices, case studies, and examples of successful AI-enabled research within Putnam and more broadly across FT as warranted

What Will Help You Be Successful in This Role

  • Experience, Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 0.5 to 2 years of relevant experience
  • Background in fundamental equity investing
  • Demonstrated passion for and practical experience using AI in a research or investment context
  • Strong communication skills, collaborative, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ambitious, driven, team player.
  • Strong work ethic and high level of intellectual curiosity

Please Note: Applicants for this position must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship
