How You’ll Contribute:
As an Analyst, Investments (Real Estate Markets), you will play a vital role in evaluating and executing diverse real estate transactions. This includes contributing to origination, underwriting, portfolio management, and strategic decision-making. You will work closely with the Managing Director of Investments and a collaborative team, bringing your expertise to shape the company’s real estate finance strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform due diligence and assist in underwriting new real estate investment opportunities.
  • Deliver high-quality investment analyses for real estate assets, funds, and joint ventures.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to source and track market opportunities.
  • Manage and monitor the existing investment portfolio, preparing regular reporting and budgeting.
  • Analyze historical property data to inform investment strategies and risk management.
  • Contribute to strategic presentations, credit committee memos, and portfolio updates.
  • Conduct site visits and participate in industry events.

What You’ll Bring:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in real estate underwriting or portfolio management (4 years preferred).
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., life insurance, banking) is highly valued.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in commercial and residential real estate underwriting and credit analysis.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including proficiency with Excel and Argus software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

Certifications

  • Progress toward or completion of CFA designation preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

Where You’ll Work:

  • Location: Chicago, Illinois
  • Work Arrangements: Mostly On-Site
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel (5-10% of the time)

Compensation and Pay Philosophy: 
The pay range for this role is $106,400.00-$146,300.00. This reflects the expected compensation for the position at the time of posting. The final offer will be based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity, and may be higher or lower than the posted range. The pay range is subject to change in the future in accordance with applicable laws. EquiTrust is committed to fair and competitive compensation that considers individual and organizational needs.
