How You’ll Contribute:
As an Associate, Investments (Fixed Income), you will drive the development and execution of investment strategies across derivatives hedging, public investment-grade corporates, and agency MBS, as well as liquidity management. This position will work closely with senior leadership and external partners to deliver high-value investment solutions and maintain robust performance metrics.

What You’ll Do:

  • Derivatives Hedging Strategies:

    • Assist in creating and implementing hedging strategies for equity, currency, and other risks
    • Review counterparty performance and coordinate onboarding for new partnerships
  • Public Investment-Grade Corporates and Agency MBS Strategies:

    • Collaborate with third-party asset managers to execute tactical and strategic asset allocation plans
    • Incorporate credit risk forecasts into relative value assessments across sectors
  • Liquidity Management:

    • Manage cash liquidity tools like repo and asset sales for funding strategic investments
    • Evaluate and onboard new repo counterparties
  • Contribute to team objectives by providing analytical support and fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment

What You’ll Bring:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (required)
  • Advanced degree (MBA) or CFA designation preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of institutional portfolio management, risk management, or trading experience
  • Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., life insurance) preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in derivatives hedging, corporate bonds, agency MBS strategies, and liquidity management
  • Advanced financial modeling and critical thinking skills
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Bloomberg, Aladdin, or related tools is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

Physical Requirements:

  • The role requires extended periods of sitting, hearing, and effective communication

  • Location: Chicago, Illinois
  • Work Arrangements: Mostly On-Site
  • Travel Requirements: Moderate travel (10-20% of the time)

Compensation and Pay Philosophy: 
The pay range for this role is $124,000.00-$170,500.00. This reflects the expected compensation for the position at the time of posting. The final offer will be based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity, and may be higher or lower than the posted range. The pay range is subject to change in the future in accordance with applicable laws. EquiTrust is committed to fair and competitive compensation that considers individual and organizational needs.
