ABOUT GHOST TREE PARTNERS

Founded in 2021 with over $650mm in commitments, GT Investment Partners (“Ghost Tree”) is a niche private credit investment strategy focused on providing flexible capital to borrowers in the small/middle market across the US and developed Europe/Asia. Founders Mark Fox, Scott Warner, Jeff Willardson and Dave Byrne have worked together at some of the most prestigious financial institutions in the world including Goldman Sachs, Bain Capital Credit, and PAAMCO Prisma (a KKR affiliate) and have a combined +80 years of experience in investment management. Together, the Ghost Tree team has executed nearly 100 transactions ranging in size from $2-50mm across four main private credit verticals: (1) corporate cash flow, (2) real estate, (3) asset backed loans, (4) specialty finance.

The team is currently 6 total professionals with offices in Irvine, CA (headquarters), New York and Boston. Ghost Tree manages capital (in several different vehicles) on behalf of sophisticated institutions, foundations, RIAs and family offices.

 

ASSOCIATE POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Ghost Tree Partners is seeking a Credit Associate to start Q1 2025 to assist in all areas of private credit underwriting including deal sourcing, initial and ongoing analysis and execution
  • This buy-side investing role is intended to be a permanent position with growth potential inside the organization
  • Primary responsibilities include financial modeling, market/industry research, and due diligence of potential investment opportunities
  • Opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of small/middle market, buy-side private credit including:
  • Credit opportunities across the spectrum – cash flow, asset backed, specialty finance and real estate
  • Evaluating investment opportunities through financial analysis and financial modeling
  • Perform industry and business research, as well as contribute to the non-financial aspects of due diligence
  • Active client engagement including marketing
  • Service provider access including legal structuring, industry consultants, valuation, administration, financing/leverage, etc.
  • Exposure to and influence in negotiating detailed credit agreements
  • Compensation: competitive salary and bonus structure with potential upside participation (with benefit package including top-tier healthcare coverage)

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two to five years’ experience in credit investing (public or private), investment management, investment banking, consulting, corporate development, or accounting
  • Proven abilities in areas such as financial modeling, investment decision making, management/strategy consulting, industry and business research, accounting, and financial analysis
  • Experience in debt financing is preferred
  • Proven record of initiative, leadership, and academic achievement
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with autonomy and ambition
  • NY Area/East Coast-based
